Transportation in Glacier National Park
You can travel by foot, horse, bike, boat and car in the park. There are also shuttle bus services, tour companies and sightseeing tours offer on Glacier's historic "jammers" busses.

Glacier National Park Airport Information:
The closest airport to the Lodge is in Kalispell, Montana, which is located 25 miles southwest of the park's west entrance. There are also airports located in Great Falls, MT, and in Calgary, Alberta in Canada.
Rental Cars:
Rental cars are available in Kalispell, Great Falls, East Glacier and West Glacier. Dollar Rent-a-Car has partnered with St Mary Lodge & Resort and offers a 5% discount to our guests who rent through them. The have pick-up and drop-off locations in Kalispell, Whitefish, East Glacier and Columbia Falls.

Vehicle Restrictions:
Vehicles crossing Logan Pass between Avalanche and Sun Point must be no more than eight feet wide and 21 feet long. Oversized vehicles must cross the Continental Divide by way of U.S. Highway 2.
General Road Information:
Roads and highways to Glacier and Waterton are well maintained and open year-round.
Most park roads are clear during spring, summer and fall.
Logan Pass, on Going-to-the-Sun Road, is open from early to mid-June until mid October. Lower elevation sections remain open year-round.
In winter, all areas of Glacier are open, but must be accessed by skis or snowshoes. No snowmobiles are allowed in the park.
